た海水は隣接した水路に放出しているが、考えられる利用用途としては、水族館や海洋治療、海水プールなどのほか、海水自体を利用した地熱エネルギーシステムなど多用であり、集水海水の有効利用についても今後の重要な検討課題と考えている。

5. おわりに

ビーチマネージメントシステムは、最適な集水量の算定、施設の配置等、未確認な点が多い。

また、すべての海岸侵食に対応できるわけではなく、海岸地形や海象条件に応じて、必要な消波構造物や護岸等と一体になってはじめて効果が得られる場合もある。

しかしながら、海岸景観、自然環境への影響を考慮すると、時代のニーズにあった侵食防止工法である。

茅ヶ崎でのビーチマネージメントシステムの共同研究は、まだ始まったばかりだが、共同研究の成果を海岸保全の一工法にとどめず、集水海水を利用して健康海岸などにも利用できるよう研究をしていきたい。
